Tolls for using motorways and expressways in Slovakia for two-track vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes are collected through an electronic vignette system called eZnámka. The vignette is linked to the vehicle's registration number and must be purchased before using the toll roads. Motorcycles are exempt from the vignette requirement.
A two-track motor vehicle or a vehicle of the M1 category, with a maximum permissible weight up to 3.5 tonnes.
A separate vignette is required for a trailer if the total combined weight of the vehicle and trailer exceeds 3.5 tonnes.
Single-track vehicles (motorcycles and scooters) do not require a vignette.
Vehicles registered by a person holding a valid parking pass for the severely disabled can be registered for exemption.
Vehicles registered as historic vehicles are exempt.
Vehicles of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, armed forces, and emergency services are exempt.
The fine for using toll roads without a valid electronic vignette can be up to €150. The system automatically detects violators using a network of cameras.
A valid e-vignette (eZnámka) must be purchased before driving on designated motorways and expressways in Slovakia. The system uses cameras to check license plates for valid vignettes.
